Packaging Team Leader

About the role

We are looking for a Packaging Team Leader to drive safe, efficient and high‑quality production on the shop floor. The role combines hands‑on leadership with a continuous‑improvement mindset, turning strategic goals into daily execution while fostering autonomy among operators.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the packaging line to meet the production plan safely, on time and within budget.
• Enforce safety and environmental standards (PPE, LOTO, SAM, PTW, 5S, incident reporting).
• Ensure product quality by performing process checks, maintaining SPC charts, and coordinating with the quality lab.
• Monitor and reduce line losses (speed, stops, rework, waste) using VPO tools.
• Control material usage, utilities and scrap while maintaining traceability and FEFO practices.
• Coach operators, conduct toolbox talks, and develop problem‑solving capabilities.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading a manufacturing or packaging team on the shop floor.
• Strong safety and quality orientation with ability to conduct audits and investigations.
• Hands‑on attitude, capable of troubleshooting equipment and process issues.
• Ability to analyse data, identify trends and implement corrective actions.

Required skills

• VPO (Value‑Process‑Optimization) methodology.
• Statistical Process Control (SPC) and MES systems.
• 5S, LOTO, SAM and Permit‑to‑Work procedures.
• Loss reduction techniques and material cost control.
