Packaging Maintenance Planner

About the role

The Packaging Maintenance Planner facilitates continuous improvement in plant reliability through TPM development and maintenance and project planning. The role covers routine maintenance scheduling, maintenance systems management and planned maintenance planning.

Key responsibilities

• Maintenance scheduling: generate routine maintenance schedules (cleaning, lubrication, inspection) in the maintenance planning system, allocate resources, generate works orders and communicate schedules to production, engineering and support teams
• Verify that routine maintenance schedules are completed and that shift teams complete their autonomous maintenance tasks; give feedback on efficiency and highlight non-compliance
• Maintenance systems management: take part in commissioning new maintenance systems or changes, ensure data integrity, plan work, generate reports including SAP reports, verify data accuracy and analyse maintenance data to find failure modes and root causes
• Planned maintenance: lead pre-meetings and post-mortems, plan the maintenance schedule, assign resources, handle ad hoc tasks and reschedule incomplete work to the next period
• Problem solving: apply the correct approach to resolve problems, call in extra resources or escalate to engineers, and act as functional expert in FFA on request

Required profile

• Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical) or equivalent and trade tested
• 3 to 5 years of production engineering experience, including 3 years at supervisory level
• Knowledge of brewing and packaging plants is an advantage
• Solid understanding of brewing principles and processes, good knowledge of manufacturing and maintenance processes, and knowledge of SHE policies and procedures

Required skills

• PC literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Use of the maintenance planning system and SAP reporting
