About the role

A well-established private optometry practice in the Paarl area is looking for a professional, knowledgeable and client-focused Optical Dispenser. The successful candidate will help patients receive professional guidance and eyewear solutions suited to their individual needs, while maintaining strong relationships with patients and contributing to a welcoming practice environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients with frame selection and give professional eyewear advice
• Take accurate measurements and ensure correct frame fitting and adjustments
• Advise clients on lens options, coatings and suitable eyewear solutions
• Assist with the dispensing and collection of spectacles
• Provide excellent after-sales service and handle client queries professionally
• Maintain strong relationships with patients and contribute to a welcoming practice environment
• Assist with general practice duties and the smooth daily running of the dispensary

Required profile

• Previous experience in optical dispensing, preferably within a private optometry practice
• Good knowledge of frames, lenses and optical products
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Professional, friendly and patient-focused approach
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently as well as within a team
