Operations Superintendent - Ferrochrome

About the role

A leading ferrochrome recovery operation in the Rustenburg & Steelpoort area is looking for an experienced Operations Superintendent. You will be responsible for overseeing plant operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and meeting production and metallurgical targets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily plant operations to achieve safe, cost‑effective production.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, quality and regulatory standards.
• Monitor and optimise production output, recovery rates and metallurgical results.
• Supervise and develop shift supervisors, operators and technical staff.
• Identify improvement opportunities and implement corrective actions.
• Analyse plant data, prepare operational reports and advise management.
• Coordinate maintenance activities with engineering teams to maximise plant availability.

Required profile

• Engineering qualification (Mechanical, Metallurgical, Electrical) preferred, or a Technician/Technologist qualification with extensive operational experience.
• Proven experience in ferrochrome recovery, slag processing, ferroalloy or chromite processing environments.
• Demonstrated ability to lead operational teams in a processing plant.
