About the role
To supervise and coordinate day‑to‑day surface mining activities, ensuring that production targets are achieved safely, efficiently and in accordance with company policies, mining regulations and applicable health and safety standards.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily surface mining operations to meet production targets safely.
- Allocate tasks, monitor progress and ensure compliance with Mine Health and Safety regulations.
- Conduct pre‑shift meetings, toolbox talks and safety briefings.
- Report equipment defects, breakdowns and unsafe conditions to the relevant department.
- Maintain housekeeping standards and accurate operational records.
Required profile
- Matric (Grade 12) or tertiary qualification.
- 2–3 years of surface mining experience.
- Valid driver’s licence.
- Computer literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Fully bilingual with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
