Operations Manager – Southern Africa Mining Services

About the role

The company, a multinational OEM in the mining sector, is seeking an Operations Manager for its Southern African region (South Africa, Namibia, Botswana). Reporting to the Regional General Manager – Africa, you will oversee field service technicians and ensure high‑quality support at customer sites and the corporate workshop.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop the regional Service Centre Manager and Customer Support Technicians.
• Ensure all field services comply with legislation and are properly documented.
• Coordinate communication between Service, Sales Support and engineering teams.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and oversee project delivery.
• Maintain customer‑centric standards and represent the company professionally on‑site.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing technical field teams in a mining or heavy‑equipment environment.
• Strong leadership and people‑development skills.
• Excellent understanding of health, safety and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to work across South Africa, Namibia and Botswana.

Required skills

• Knowledge of OEM equipment maintenance and support processes.
• Familiarity with mining industry standards and documentation.
