Operational Paramedic - ER24 Vaal

About the role

Mediclinic is recruiting one Operational Paramedic for its ER24 Vaal ambulance service in Parys, South Africa. The position is on-site and fixed term, and the main purpose is to attend emergency calls and provide advanced medical care within the scope of practice.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and ensure operational readiness for emergency calls
• Administer patient care in line with scope of practice
• Market and maintain a positive public image for ER24
• Provide basic shift administration services

Required profile

• Critical Care Assistant (CCA) qualification, or a National Diploma in Emergency Medicine or Diploma in Emergency Medical Care
• Newly qualified ALS with operational EMS experience; 1 year of ALS operational experience is desirable
• Advantageous: successful completion of training on Clinical Practice Guidelines published by the Health Professions Council of South Africa; non-compliant candidates must complete it during their probation period
• Proficiency in written and spoken English
