About the role

The Operational Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) provides high‑quality nursing care within the operating theatre at Netcare Alberton Hospital. Acting as a clinical resource and leader, the CNS ensures safe, competent care and supports staff development throughout each shift.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as shift leader for the assigned theatre shift.
• Deliver and coordinate competent nursing care throughout the shift.
• Contribute to research, development, and review of best practice in the specialty.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary hospital departments to provide appropriate support services.
• Act as a clinical resource, sharing advanced knowledge of the operating theatre.
• Allocate and adjust staff levels to meet patient acuity and skill requirements.
• Maintain ongoing professional development and stay current with Netcare policies.
