Online IAS Economics Teacher (Remote, Part-time)

About the role

This remote, part‑time position is for experienced educators to deliver one‑on‑one IAS Economics lessons to secondary students. You will work from South Africa, teaching according to Cambridge, Edexcel or A‑Level curricula, using virtual classrooms and digital resources.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver personalized, engaging IAS Economics lessons in a fully virtual environment.
• Adapt teaching methods and digital resources to each student’s learning style and goals.
• Assess performance, provide feedback and adjust lesson plans to optimise outcomes.
• Prepare lesson plans, homework, assessments and examination materials.
• Facilitate interactive online classes while maintaining a professional atmosphere.
• Manage course content and assignments within the learning management system.
• Contribute to the development of educational resources for current and future students.
• Be available to teach during AEST (9:00 AM‑1:30 PM) for scheduled one‑hour sessions.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of classroom teaching experience at Level/Form 7‑13.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Economics or a closely related field.
• Strong knowledge of Cambridge, Edexcel or A‑Level Economics curricula and examinations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with online teaching platforms and virtual instruction.
• Strong organisational and classroom‑management abilities in an online setting.
• Teaching qualification (license, degree in education or postgraduate certification) preferred.
