Off Premise Graduate Trainee

About the role

Red Bull is looking for a graduate trainee to join its Off-Premise sales team in Cape Town, focused on Trade Marketing, Category Management and Insights. The role involves rotations in Trade Marketing and is designed to coach the trainee on trade and sales aspects, exposing them to data sources, brand and trade marketing, category management and customer-facing work.

Key responsibilities

• Trade Marketing: support Off-Premise Trade Marketing projects across channels, including bringing brand and category to life in store; support campaigns and temporary POS from brief through production, deployment and tracking, working with agencies and the field sales team; assist with permanent and category units and cooler asset management, including data accuracy; help develop new point-of-sale tools and materials and campaign briefs
• Category Management: analyse sales, shopper, market demographics and cooler data to build category and shopper insight; support planogram development and category solutions with retail and gas partners; help build insight one-pagers for National Key Account teams on shelf space, new listings, displays and cooler placements
• Insights: support reporting, dashboards and shopper understanding; help manage master data, data quality and integration across platforms and refresh internal dashboards; turn shopper and category insights into actions for Key Account Managers and the wider team

Required profile

• Recent graduate with a commercial or marketing degree or a related qualification
• Fluent English, verbal and written
• Hands-on approach, entrepreneurial spirit and ability to work independently
• Retailer or sales experience desirable but not required
• Open to coaching

• Literacy in Excel and PowerPoint
• Strong analytical ability and commercial acumen, including reading financial statements and market trends
• Communication, listening and interpersonal skills, including direct customer contact
• Management reporting and budget control
• Strong presentation skills with concept sell techniques
