Nurse Educator

About the role

Mediclinic is seeking a Nurse Educator to deliver higher‑education and training programmes for its students and staff. The role combines classroom instruction with practical clinical facilitation, ensuring learners develop the competence required to practice independently.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure all training complies with Higher Education & Training standards and American Heart Association (AHA) requirements.
• Design, develop and assess learning materials and interventions using instructional design principles.
• Facilitate both theoretical and clinical learning sessions for nursing staff.
• Coordinate and administer student‑related processes, including enrolment and progress tracking.

Required profile

• Professional Nurse qualification.
• Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing Education or Health Science Education (or a Master’s degree in Nursing).
• Additional postgraduate diploma in a nursing specialty such as Critical Care, Emergency, or Operating Theatre.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a registered nurse.
• At least 1 year of experience delivering training or education.

Required skills

• Instructional Design using the ADDIE model.
• Knowledge of Nursing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Familiarity with Mediclinic training policies and group facilitation tools.
• Understanding of Bloom’s taxonomy, adult learning principles, and assessment & moderation techniques.
