About the role
The Municipal Manager will provide strategic leadership to Ba‑Phalaborwa Local Municipality, overseeing the implementation of relevant policies and legislation, governance systems and council operations, including delegation of powers. The role includes ensuring good governance, audit and risk management, and effective budget and finance management in line with the Local Government Competency Framework. The incumbent will drive institutional transformation, performance management and compliance throughout a fixed‑term two‑year contract.
Required profile
- Grade 12 Certificate
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Social Sciences, Law or equivalent
- Minimum five years of senior management experience
- Proven record of successful institutional transformation in the public or private sector
- Valid driver’s licence
- Computer literacy
- Willingness to undergo competency assessment and security clearance
