MSSP Engineer

About the role

Our client in Cape Town is seeking an MSSP Engineer to join a remote/hybrid support team. You will work on complex technical incidents, ensuring business continuity for a diverse client base while enjoying flexible work arrangements.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to support requests via phone, email, and ticketing systems.
• Provide Level 1‑3 remote technical support and troubleshooting.
• Support client infrastructure including end‑user devices, servers, networking, cloud platforms, and security solutions.
• Manage support tickets from logging through resolution.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation and contribute to the knowledge base.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and specialist teams to escalate and resolve complex issues.
• Meet agreed SLAs and response targets.
• Participate in on‑call or after‑hours support rosters as required.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in a similar technical support role.
• Structured, analytical approach to diagnosing and resolving issues.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.
• Proactive attitude with ownership and accountability.

Required skills

• Networking concepts: TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, firewall technologies.
• Windows Server administration and Active Directory.
• Microsoft 365 and cloud‑based platforms.
• Cybersecurity best practices: system patching and vulnerability management.
• Remote technical support and ticketing system usage.
