Mid-level Accountant – Tax & Accounting (Pretoria East)

About the role

We are looking for a mid‑level Accountant to join a fast‑growing tax and accounting practice in Pretoria East. The successful candidate will handle a full spectrum of accounting and tax duties for trusts, individuals and companies while supporting the team’s compliance obligations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly work‑up to trial balance and compile financial statements.
• Process payroll and submit EMP201/EMP501 returns.
• Handle VAT submissions, reconciliations and related reporting.
• Prepare and lodge SARS income‑tax returns for various client types.
• Assist with trust and company financial reporting.

Required profile

• BCom Accounting degree or equivalent.
• Completed articles; SAIPA Professional Accountant designation preferred.
• Minimum 3 years experience in an accounting practice.
• Fluent in Afrikaans and English.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel.
• Draftworx (or similar accounting software).
• Strong knowledge of SARS compliance and tax submissions.
• Experience with VAT and payroll processing.
