Medical Receptionist – Patient Care Support

About the role

The Medical Receptionist will be the first point of contact for patients visiting our client’s practice in North Johannesburg. You will provide calm, empathetic support throughout the patient journey and assist the clinical team with administrative tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Greet patients, manage appointments and maintain the reception area.
• Provide clear, professional communication with patients and team members.
• Support treatment operators by preparing documentation and coordinating patient flow.
• Handle phone calls, emails and general enquiries efficiently.
• Maintain patient records in accordance with privacy regulations.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a receptionist, preferably in a medical or healthcare setting.
• Ability to remain patient‑focused and composed in a high‑pressure environment.
• Team player with a professional demeanor.
• Fluent in English and Afrikaans.

Required skills

• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
• Proficiency with standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office).
