Mechanical Engineer – Design & Stability Analysis

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering team in Germiston. The role focuses on designing, modifying, and performing stability analysis of custom platforms that integrate advanced lifting and loading equipment. The successful candidate will work closely with sales and production to deliver tailored solutions for material handling applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design mechanical systems, components, sub‑base and chassis platforms for lifting and loading equipment.
• Conduct structural calculations and simulations to ensure integrity, safety and compliance with standards.
• Collaborate with sales and production teams to develop customized solutions for client specifications.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing, resolving design‑related issues and ensuring manufacturability.
• Participate in prototype builds and product testing to validate performance.
• Identify and implement design improvements for efficiency, durability and cost‑effectiveness.
• Prepare engineering drawings, bills of materials, manuals and installation guidelines.

Required profile

• BEng in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3–5 years of experience in mechanical design and product development, preferably in the material handling industry.
• Strong understanding of mechanical principles, material science and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently.
