Mechanical Design Graduate

About the role

Join the design department at Jendamark Automation as a Mechanical Design Graduate. You will work within a collaborative team to develop engineering designs and solutions that meet specific customer requirements and specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with ECR designs and detailing for small fixtures and tools.
• Participate in the design and detailing of small special‑purpose applications.
• Help establish effective design solutions and specify components for procurement.
• Engage continuously with assembly and commissioning teams throughout project phases.
• Under mentorship, create design release packages for manufacturing and final designs within a controlled budget.
• Ensure compliance with Jendamark’s ISO procedures.
• Contribute to cost‑reduction initiatives and provide suggestions for savings.
• Perform basic calculations of stresses, forces and accuracies.

Required profile

• Formal tertiary education: N. Dip or higher in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics.
• Driver’s licence Code 8.
• Fluent in English and Afrikaans; German is advantageous.
• Basic hand‑sketching ability.
• Fundamental understanding of concept development.
• Basic experience with machine calculations and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
• Basic knowledge of material specifications and processes.
• Good time‑management skills and ability to work in a team environment.
