Mechanical Design Engineer – Injection Moulding & Metal Pressing

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with proven expertise in injection moulding and metal pressing machinery. The role involves turning concepts into robust, production‑ready equipment that meets high‑volume manufacturing demands.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop machines, tooling, and equipment for injection moulding and metal pressing processes.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, tooling, and production teams to optimise machine performance and efficiency.
• Create detailed CAD models, drawings, and specifications that adhere to manufacturing constraints.
• Support new product development by providing mechanical design solutions that are cost‑effective and reliable.
• Integrate automation and production line elements where applicable.

Required profile

• 3–8 years of mechanical design experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong background with injection moulding machines and/or metal pressing equipment.
• Hands‑on, detail‑driven mindset with the ability to work in fast‑paced production settings.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills to liaise with cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency in CAD design software (SolidWorks, Inventor or similar).
• Experience in tooling design, machine layout and production equipment optimisation.
• Knowledge of materials, tolerances and manufacturing processes.
• Understanding of automation and production line integration.
• Design‑for‑manufacture (DFM) capability.
