Mathematics Teacher – Grade 8‑12 (Permanent & Locum)

About the role

We are seeking qualified Mathematics teachers for multiple openings covering Grades 8 to 12. The positions include permanent posts for Grades 8‑9 and temporary (locum/maternity) assignments for Grades 10‑11 Core Maths and Grade 12 Maths Literacy, starting July 2026.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess mathematics curriculum for assigned grades.
• Record and report student assessments accurately.
• Participate in grade‑level meetings, workshops and professional development sessions.
• Maintain a positive learning environment and manage classroom resources.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers to ensure cohesive grade‑phase operations.
• Support extracurricular activities, including sport and cultural events.
• Assist with discipline management and occasional administrative duties.

Required profile

• Recognised academic and professional teaching qualification.
• Current registration with the South African Council for Educators (SACE).
• Relevant experience teaching FET Mathematics and Mathematics Literacy for locum roles.
• Experience teaching Grades 8‑9 Mathematics for permanent positions.
• Clear criminal record.

Required skills

• Familiarity with the CAPS curriculum (preferred).
• Strong classroom management and assessment skills.
