Materials Planner

About the role

The Materials Planner will manage Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems to ensure that the right quantities of materials are available on time for production. This role is critical for maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting on‑time‑in‑full (OTIF) delivery, and preventing shortages or excess stock in a global pharmaceutical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and manage MRP parameters and data accuracy.
• Generate, review, and release planned orders, purchase requisitions, and production orders.
• Align material supply with production schedules and demand forecasts.
• Monitor and adjust planning inputs such as lead times, safety stock, and minimum order quantities.
• Identify and mitigate supply risks, communicating proactively with relevant departments.
• Track supplier delivery performance against OTIF targets and expedite critical materials.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels, support cycle counts, and ensure accurate ERP inventory records.
• Execute purchase orders, confirm deliveries, resolve discrepancies, and keep system records up‑to‑date.
• Collaborate closely with procurement, suppliers, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure smooth supply flow and GMP compliance.

Required profile

• Experience in material planning or supply chain within a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with MRP and ERP systems for inventory and production planning.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with procurement, manufacturing, quality, and supplier teams.
• Strong analytical skills to balance demand forecasts, safety stock, and lead times.
