Marketing Manager - Ruminants & Companion Animals (SSA)

About the role

MSD is looking for a Marketing Manager for Ruminants and Companion Animals (Rums & CA) in the Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) region. The role develops and manages marketing programs across SSA countries, supports business objectives, fosters customer relationships, analyses markets, provides sales support and advances brand building. It reports to the SSA Business Unit Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the marketing strategy and tactics for SSA in line with the company's Animal Health objectives.
• Lead marketing programs from start to finish, coordinating campaigns with sales activities and aligning them with key account clients' marketing plans.
• Plan and implement promotional campaigns, propose and manage marketing research projects, and create and publish all marketing material.
• Prepare online and print campaigns, measure their performance and report results against goals.
• Work with design agencies on new product launches, analyse consumer behaviour and adjust advertising accordingly, and maintain internal communication of marketing objectives.
• Analyse potential strategic partner relationships and prepare and monitor the marketing budget quarterly and annually.
• Identify and develop Key Opinion Leaders, build relationships with them, and make regular country visits to support the sales team.
• Collaborate with marketing, sales, technical, customer services, regulatory affairs and other functions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing or equivalent qualification.
• At least 3 years of commercial work experience with a proven track record of success.
• Exposure to the veterinary field is an added advantage; knowledge of the SSA market and its regulations is also an added advantage.
• Ability to travel 50% of the time to SSA countries; a valid driving licence is required.
