Marketing & Communications Manager – Sales Area Africa

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Marketing & Communications Manager to lead the marketing function for the Sales Area Africa within Sandvik Rock Processing. Reporting to the Vice President Sales Area Africa, you will be based in Johannesburg and will be responsible for driving growth, market share and brand reputation across the African region.

Key responsibilities

• Implement global Business Area and divisional marketing strategies within the Sales Area Africa.
• Develop and execute a regional marketing strategy aligned with Sandvik brand standards.
• Manage the editorial and content pipeline, producing customer case studies, stories and promotional materials.
• Plan and coordinate participation in industry events, exhibitions, conferences and trade shows.
• Oversee the Sales Area’s presence in regional trade media and industry publications.
• Create and deliver promotional plans, including product launches, advertising, and campaigns.
• Collaborate with divisional marketing teams and regional sales management to launch campaigns that increase market share and profitability.
• Administer the marketing budget and ensure spend aligns with approvals.
• Manage external service providers such as creative agencies, photographers, videographers, media partners and event organisers.
• Develop internal communication strategies to support employee engagement and organisational culture.
• Produce and distribute internal communications across appropriate channels.

Required profile

• Proven experience in marketing and communications, preferably within industrial or mining sectors.
• Strong understanding of brand management and compliance.
• Demonstrated ability to create compelling content and manage editorial pipelines.
• Experience planning and executing regional events and trade show participation.
• Ability to work closely with sales and business line managers across multiple territories.
• Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
