About the role

The Manager – Land Reforms and Transactions (Property Management) oversees registration of townships and property transfers, implements strategic direction for the division and coordinates land restitution and tenure upgrades within Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality.

Key responsibilities

Attend to registration of all townships and property transfers in the deeds office.
Implement strategic direction for the division.
Coordinate administration of all land restitution claims within the municipal area.
Coordinate upgrading of existing land tenure systems in Buffalo City.
Prepare and submit regular reports to the General Manager of Property Management.
Prepare reports to the Spatial Planning and Development standing committee and implement council resolutions.
Institute measures to prevent land invasion and illegal occupation of council land.
Attend internal and external meetings with ward committees and other stakeholders.

Required profile

Degree in Real Estate, Public Administration or Law.
Valid driver’s licence.
Minimum four years’ experience in land administration.
