Maintenance Technician (Trade Tested Millwright)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician with a trade‑tested Millwright qualification to join our Assembly team in Durban. You will be responsible for keeping plant and equipment running smoothly while supporting production targets.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct fault finding and programming as required.
• Prepare and use engineering drawings, manuals and documentation.
• Follow monthly, weekly and daily maintenance plans.
• Monitor equipment condition and analyse performance.
• Ensure spare parts and materials are available for maintenance work.
• Attend to breakdowns, report them and implement corrective actions.
• Perform preventative maintenance on all plant and equipment.
• Report parts damage and suggest counter‑measures.
• Maintain high standards of safety and housekeeping.
• Submit Kaizen ideas and near‑miss reports for continuous improvement.
• Back‑up the Operations team to help meet production targets.

Required profile

• Trade‑tested Millwright (Red Seal preferred).
• 5–7 years of relevant experience after trade test.
• Valid Code 08 driver’s licence.
• Ability to work effectively in an assembly environment.

Required skills

• Fault finding and basic programming.
• Interpretation of engineering drawings and manuals.
• Basic robot operation and repair.
• Welding proficiency.
• Basic PLC knowledge.
• Proficiency with MS Office and general computer skills.
• Preventative maintenance of plant and equipment.
