Maintenance Technician – Fitter & Turner / Millwright

About the role

The Maintenance Technician ensures reliable operation, maintenance and repair of production equipment in a fast‑moving FMCG environment, minimizing downtime and supporting production targets.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine and corrective maintenance on plant equipment as directed by the Factory Manager/Supervisor.
• Set up and operate production machines daily and as required.
• Ensure safe use of equipment, conduct online maintenance and maintain good housekeeping standards.
• Monitor operator output, report machine performance and any unsafe conditions to the Factory Manager.
• Train operators on safe machinery use and adherence to procedures.
• Maintain quality maintenance standards and follow company safety guidelines.

Required profile

• Grade 12 qualification.
• Apprentice‑trained artisan with a Fitter & Turner or Millwright trade test qualification.
• 1‑4 years post‑qualifying experience in an FMCG production environment.
• Experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, PLCs, electrical/electronic systems and plant utilities such as compressors and generators.
