Maintenance Supervisor – FMCG

About the role

We are seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead the maintenance team in our fast‑moving consumer goods (FMCG) plant in Port Elizabeth. The role ensures high equipment availability on high‑speed production lines and supports continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Execute preventative and reactive maintenance to maximise equipment uptime.
• Support planned maintenance schedules and TPM initiatives.
• Monitor equipment performance, report downtime and recurring issues.
• Lead root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Manage critical spares inventory and assist with stock control.
• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of artisans, technicians and on‑site contractors.
• Provide hands‑on technical support during breakdowns.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety standards and company policies.
• Maintain maintenance records and report on KPIs.
• Coordinate with production teams to minimise downtime.

Required profile

• Grade 12 qualification.
• Trade qualification as a Millwright or Electrician.
• 3–5 years of maintenance experience in an FMCG manufacturing environment.
• Experience with high‑speed production lines and automated systems.
• Valid driver’s licence, own transport and residence in Port Elizabeth/Uitenhage.
• Willingness to work every second weekend and be on standby.
