Maintenance Artisan Electrician

About the role

Continental is seeking a qualified Maintenance Artisan Electrician to support electrical and planned maintenance on production and plant equipment. The role ensures optimal machine performance, minimal downtime, and contributes to continuous improvement in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform electrical and planned maintenance on production machinery and plant equipment.
• Work shift cover, including weekends, standby duties and overtime as required.
• Operate PLCs, conduct fault finding and basic troubleshooting on automated systems.
• Repair, install and commission machines and production equipment.
• Carry out instrumentation functions, calibration and related maintenance activities.
• Respond urgently to breakdowns and production‑related maintenance issues.
• Adhere to health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.
• Provide input for spare parts requirements and stock control.
• Participate in root‑cause analysis, problem solving and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Document all work accurately in SAP‑PM.

Required profile

• Qualified Electrician (Trade Test) with a recognised apprenticeship.
• 3–5 years post‑qualification experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Strong experience with AC/DC drives and basic commissioning.
• Basic knowledge of pneumatics and system troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
• Computer literate with Microsoft Windows and MS Office.
