Logistics Management Officer

About the role

The Road Accident Fund seeks a Logistics Management Officer to maintain and improve logistics operations, ensuring the efficient, cost‑effective flow of materials, assets and information from origin to consumption in line with internal and external requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Draft needs‑assessment plans, forecast future requirements and conduct expenditure and market analyses.
• Assist in categorising vendor applications, assess value for money and ensure compliance with PFMA and Treasury regulations.
• Identify optimal procurement sources and implement logistics processes and procedures.
• Support vehicle identification, purchasing, record‑keeping of servicing and scheduling to minimise downtime.
• Arrange asset disposal viewings, monitor physical collection and compile reconciliation reports for senior verification.
• Assist in preparing regulatory reports and developing functional reporting systems.
• Handle inquiries from internal and external stakeholders, maintain vendor relationships and ensure timely invoicing and payment.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Diploma in Logistics Management, Supply Chain Management or a related finance discipline.
• Minimum three years of relevant logistics management experience, including asset disposal administration.
• Experience in procurement or supply‑chain functions within State‑Owned Enterprises is an advantage.
• Demonstrated competencies in planning, judgement, ethics, compliance, logistics management and analytical research.
