Logistics Buyer – Procurement of Vehicles & Services

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Buyer to manage the procurement of vehicles, transport services and various facility services for Agrimark Operations. The role will act as the central point of contact for all logistics‑related purchases, supporting our extensive retail network across South Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate vehicle purchases and fleet agreements, including trucks, bakkies and forklifts.
• Manage relationships with transport and courier contractors, optimise transport modes and load consolidations.
• Negotiate long‑term and spot contracts with 3PL suppliers and monitor their performance.
• Oversee service and works contractors for pest control, security, maintenance and fire equipment.
• Identify opportunities to rationalise service requirements and drive cost efficiencies.
• Maintain strong supplier relationships and ensure compliance with all transport and service agreements.

Required profile

• Relevant Bachelor’s degree or National Diploma.
• Minimum two years of procurement or logistics buying experience.
• Interest or specialization in transport and data analytics is advantageous.
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
• Valid driver’s licence and own transport.
• Willingness to work extended hours during peak periods.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.
