Legal Advisor

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Legal Advisor to join our team in Sandton. The role focuses on providing high‑quality legal advice across commercial, corporate and finance matters while ensuring strict compliance with internal policies.

Key responsibilities

• Provide timely legal advice and conduct thorough legal research.
• Ensure compliance with IDC internal procedures and relevant regulations.
• Identify, assess and mitigate potential legal risks.
• Draft, review, negotiate and restructure a variety of agreements, including financing and cross‑border contracts.
• Lead due‑diligence investigations and coordinate with external counsel.
• Structure and negotiate corporate, project finance and import/export finance transactions.
• Prepare presentations on legal and regulatory developments.
• Develop and maintain relationships with external legal service providers and internal stakeholders.

Required profile

• Law degree with admission as an Attorney.
• Minimum two years post‑article experience in the commercial sector.
• Banking and finance experience is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, negotiation and problem‑solving abilities.
• Professionalism, ethical commitment and ability to work independently or within a team.
