Lecturer – Human Movement Science (3 positions)

About the role

The University of Zululand invites applications for three full‑time Lecturer positions in the Department of Human Movement Science. The successful candidates will join the Faculty of Science, Agriculture and Engineering, delivering both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and contributing to research and community engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures, seminars, tutorials and practical sessions in Human Movement Science and related modules.
• Supervise postgraduate research projects and theses.
• Participate in curriculum development, module writing and outcome‑based education design.
• Engage in community outreach and collaborative research activities.
• Perform departmental administrative duties and report to the Head of Department.

Required profile

• Minimum MSc degree in Human Movement Science, Sports Science, Biokinetics, Kinderkinetics or a closely related discipline.
• At least 2–3 years of lecturing or teaching experience at a higher education institution.
• Professional registration with HPCSA (Biokineticist) or SAPIK (Kinderkinetics) preferred.
• Demonstrated research activity with publications in teaching and learning.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Experience with Moodle LMS and other online assessment tools.
• Ability to write academic reports, presentations and research papers.
