Lecturer – Business Management (Permanent)

About the role

North-West University seeks a permanent Lecturer in Business Management to join its School of Management Sciences. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate modules, supervise postgraduate students, conduct research, and engage with community and industry partners.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver lectures and seminars for Business Management courses.
• Develop and update curricula, study materials and guides.
• Supervise Master's students and mentor junior staff.
• Conduct research, publish in indexed journals and build national/international research networks.
• Lead community‑engagement projects focused on work‑integrated learning and outreach.
• Represent the school on university, national and international committees.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Business Management (NQF level 9).
• At least three years of lecturing and research experience in higher education.
• Preference for a PhD in Business Management (NQF level 10).
• Demonstrated knowledge of Business Management theory and practice.
• Strong interpersonal skills, language proficiency for multilingual environments, and ability to work both independently and in teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with word‑processing software.
• Experience using quantitative and qualitative analysis tools such as JASP, SPSS, MPLUS, R, AMOS, ATLAS.ti.
• Familiarity with learning management systems (SAKAI, Moodle, Blackboard).
