Junior / Lecturer / Senior Lecturer (Permanent)

About the role

North-West University’s Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences is seeking qualified candidates for a permanent teaching position at the junior, lecturer or senior level. The role involves delivering undergraduate and postgraduate courses, supervising research, and contributing to the university’s research agenda.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess tutorials, practical classes, workshops and field excursions.
• Develop and update course material to ensure academic rigor and relevance.
• Teach undergraduate and postgraduate modules in economics and related subjects.
• Provide mentorship and academic guidance to students.
• Supervise postgraduate coursework and research projects.
• Monitor student performance and implement interventions to improve throughput.
• Engage in scholarly research, publish in peer‑reviewed outlets and contribute to the research culture of the school.

Required profile

• Relevant academic qualification at grade A9/A8/A7 (PhD preferred or in progress).
• Demonstrated ability to teach at university level.
• Experience in curriculum development and student supervision.
• Commitment to research and scholarly activities.
