Lease Auditor – UK Hours (Hybrid, Johannesburg)

About the role

The Lease Auditor will support investors, estate managers and tenants by auditing lease data and financials to ensure compliance with lease terms. Based in Johannesburg, the role operates on a hybrid schedule with three days of remote work and follows UK business hours.

Key responsibilities

• Validate and reconcile lease information against client lease management systems, confirming dates, space details, rent tables and option periods.
• Identify and document data discrepancies, coordinate resolution with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Audit financial lease components such as service charges, insurance recharges, base rent, turnover rent, utilities, deposits and allowances.
• Prepare detailed audit reports, track revenue leakage, and highlight cost‑saving opportunities.
• Interpret commercial lease provisions, ensuring correct application of proportionate shares, management fees and caps.
• Engage with landlords and legal teams to obtain supporting documentation and resolve disputes.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of commercial and residential lease terminology and expense allocation methods.
• Excellent analytical abilities with a focus on data accuracy and financial reconciliation.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with landlords, legal advisors and audit teams.
• Ability to work independently within a hybrid model and adhere to UK working hours.
