Learning & Development Facilitator – Retail

About the role

Absolute Pets is seeking a dynamic Learning & Development Facilitator to design, deliver and continuously improve retail training programmes across its 200‑store network. Based in Cape Town, you will travel nationally to support store teams and ensure consistent product knowledge, policy compliance and customer‑service excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Design and facilitate engaging learning programmes covering product knowledge, company policies and customer service.
• Create and maintain digital learning content, ensuring relevance on the LMS.
• Lead in‑person onboarding and ongoing training sessions for store staff.
• Plan and manage learning events, handling venue setup, suppliers and budgets.
• Assess learner performance, provide feedback and develop tools to measure training impact.
• Coordinate logistics – venues, catering, materials – and liaise with suppliers.
• Conduct on‑the‑job store visits to coach employees and align performance with standards.
• Support SETA submissions and assist with HR projects as needed.

Required profile

• 2–3 years experience in a retail or customer‑facing environment.
• Previous exposure to training or facilitation roles is advantageous.
• Strong communication, facilitation and interpersonal abilities.
• Creative, innovative mindset with a passion for pet care and retail.
• Willingness to travel locally as required.
