Lead: Public Relations

About the role

Capitec is seeking a Lead for Public Relations to drive the planning, coordination and execution of its PR initiatives. You will ensure that all activities align with brand objectives and work closely with internal teams and external partners to deliver impactful communications.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of PR strategies and campaigns.
• Coordinate day‑to‑day delivery of PR activities, including media pitching, press‑release writing and stakeholder engagement.
• Manage relationships with external agencies, vendors and media outlets.
• Track budgets, report on spend and measure the effectiveness of media placements.
• Collaborate with marketing, digital and ATL teams to ensure integrated brand messaging.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience in public relations, communications or event coordination.
• Proven track record of executing PR campaigns and managing vendor relationships.
• Experience writing press releases, pitches and internal communications.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with journalists and media contacts.
• Clear criminal and credit record.
