Lead DevOps Engineer

About the role

The Lead DevOps Engineer will define and execute the DevOps strategy for our financial services platform, ensuring high‑quality software deployments, application health, and performance. This senior role bridges development and operations, fostering a culture of automation and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and champion DevOps best practices across the technology team.
• Mentor engineers on DevOps tools, processes, and automation.
• Research, evaluate, and implement new tools and technologies.
• Design and maintain continuous integration and delivery pipelines, including test frameworks and quality analysis.
• Oversee build, versioning, and release management of solutions.
• Document, automate, and manage deployment processes.
• Support infrastructure for service implementation and deployment.
• Collaborate with developers to integrate CI/CD pipelines and centralized tooling.
• Manage OS upgrades, patch installations, and application deployments.
• Monitor infrastructure and services to maximise uptime.

Required profile

• Relevant IT qualification (essential).
• 2‑4 years experience as a Senior Software Engineer or Technical Lead.
• 8‑10 years overall experience as a Software Engineer or equivalent.
• ITIL training and certification (essential).
• Experience in the insurance or financial services sector (desirable).
• Post‑graduate qualification in a related field (desirable).
