Lead Assistant Manager – IT Asset Management

About the role

EXL is seeking a Lead Assistant Manager to own the end‑to‑end IT Asset Management portfolio. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of hardware and software assets, ensuring compliance, optimal utilization, and smooth disposal across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Manage procurement, deployment, operational lifecycle, licensing compliance and disposal of all IT assets.
• Oversee both Hardware Asset Management (HAM) and Software Asset Management (SAM) for desktops, laptops, servers, network devices, printers and peripherals.
• Maintain deep knowledge of vendor contracts and licensing terms for major OEMs such as Microsoft, VMware, Oracle, Adobe and McAfee.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, suppliers and vendors to resolve hardware queries and ensure compliance reporting.
• Drive process improvements and support configuration management activities.

Required profile

• Strong, well‑rounded knowledge of IT assets in an IT/ITES/BPO environment.
• Hands‑on experience with day‑to‑day incident resolution and service request fulfillment.
• Familiarity with enterprise‑level ITAM policies, procedures and standardized processes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Matric (Grade 12) qualification; preference for candidates from historically under‑represented groups.
