Labour Law Litigator

About the role

Labournet is seeking a dedicated Labour Law Litigator to join its Johannesburg branch. You will support clients through the full spectrum of labour dispute resolution, ensuring compliance with South African employment legislation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all phases of litigation, from investigation and discovery to pre‑arbitration, conciliation, mediation and arbitration.
• Provide expert labour‑related legal advice and risk analysis to clients.
• Draft correspondence for clients, the CCMA, unions and other employee representatives.
• Gather and analyse evidence, prepare witness testimonies and represent clients at conciliation, arbitration and arbitration‑level proceedings.
• Update case files on the CMS and contribute to client retention and growth targets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Relations, Law, HR, Industrial Psychology or a related field.
• At least one year of experience in labour law, preferably within Labournet.
• Up‑to‑date knowledge of Labour Administration Programs (LAPs) or a clear plan to acquire it.
• Valid driver’s licence and own vehicle.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of South African labour legislation and recent case law.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
