Kitchen Manager

About the role

The Kitchen Manager will lead all back‑of‑house operations at Cracker Zac's, an upscale adults‑only cocktail bar and entertainment venue in Pretoria. This full‑time, on‑site role ensures that food preparation, cooking, and service are delivered to the highest standards while supporting a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily food preparation, cooking, plating, and timing to maintain consistent quality and presentation.
• Plan menus and coordinate with leadership on product offerings and special events.
• Manage inventory, ordering, and cost control to minimise waste and stay within budget.
• Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise kitchen staff, fostering a safe and collaborative team.
• Maintain a sanitary kitchen environment and ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with front‑of‑house teams to align service timing and respond to guest feedback related to food.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Kitchen Manager, Sous Chef, or similar supervisory role in a bar, entertainment, or high‑volume setting.
• Strong leadership, communication, and conflict‑resolution abilities.
• Excellent time‑management and organisational skills for peak service periods.
• Relevant culinary qualification, certification, or equivalent practical experience is preferred.
