Key Account Manager - Wholesaler Channel (South Africa)

About the role

Dr Reddy's is looking for a Key Account Manager for its wholesaler channel in South Africa. The KAM drives strategic growth and operational excellence across selected corporate and independent wholesaler accounts, combining strong analytical, relationship-building and execution skills.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve company sales targets for wholesaler key accounts and build a key account strategy tailored to the South African market.
• Conduct market and channel research and analytics to support sales forecasting and planning.
• Maintain optimal stock levels across wholesaler channels and facilitate timely procurement so orders are fulfilled without interruption.
• Hold regular executive-level meetings on landing estimates and strategic priorities, and build relationships with wholesalers, pharmacy groups and key stakeholders.
• Engage personally with wholesalers, hospital groups, retail chains, buying groups, IPAs and medical aids, and address customer queries promptly.
• Keep a client database enriched with insights and analytics, and align sales activities with marketing objectives.
• Support promotional initiatives such as conferences and speaker programs, and work with Regional Sales Managers and Commercial Sales Representatives to drive sales pull-through.
• Work with Regional, National Sales Managers and Product Managers to seize opportunities, implement action plans and communicate accurate weekly, monthly and annual landing estimates.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree.
• 1-3 years of minimum work experience.
• Thorough understanding of the South African pharmaceutical industry and healthcare-related events.
• Ability to build and expand business relationships, manage budgets and resources, and drive commercial results in a highly regulated, compliance-driven environment.
• Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills, computer literacy (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and a high level of integrity.
