Key Account Manager - Food Manufacturing Industry

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Key Account Manager to manage and grow our existing key customer accounts within the food manufacturing sector. The role involves maintaining strong relationships, driving consistent purchasing activity and identifying upselling and cross‑selling opportunities for functional ingredient solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and expand the existing customer base, monitoring sales margins and portfolio opportunities.
• Build strong relationships with clients, understand their needs and keep abreast of market trends in food and non‑food industries.
• Visit customers regularly to address concerns, capture opportunities and provide performance feedback.
• Collaborate with the Marketing Manager on new product development and marketing plan execution.
• Track monthly performance against sales targets, manage budgeting and ensure profitability, including debtor management.
• Conduct market research and data analysis to uncover growth opportunities and implement price adjustments.
• Provide weekly/monthly portfolio reports to the Business Development Manager.

• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to build professional relationships.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, showing initiative and reliability.
• Excellent negotiation skills with a focus on delivering value to customers.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
