Key Account Manager – Airline Catering

About the role

We are looking for a Key Account Manager to build and maintain long‑term relationships with airline customers, acting as the main liaison between them and our cross‑functional internal teams. The role ensures the timely and accurate delivery of catering solutions in line with contractual requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and nurture relationships with key airline managers and staff.
• Coordinate weekly food testing for major and minor airlines and oversee complete flight‑check processing across all production steps.
• Conduct at least two ramp visits per month and perform monthly spot checks on specifications.
• Maintain and update the menu calendar, organise menu‑change meetings and verify spec distribution before and after changes.
• Ensure correct loading plans, packing lists and quality‑of‑service meetings are held monthly.
• Respond to customer complaints within 48 hours (24 hours for critical issues) and communicate resolutions professionally.
• Update the Quality Management System (QMS) weekly and provide accurate reporting.
• Coordinate charter flight setups and communicate requirements to internal stakeholders.
• Support finance teams by auditing invoices, providing month‑end data and reviewing global discount schemes.
• Calculate cost of sales, extract financial data from the online catering system and manage price updates and controls.

Required profile

• Proven experience in key account management, preferably within airline catering or related food‑service environments.
• Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail to meet strict timelines.
• Excellent communication skills for interfacing with customers and internal departments.
• Ability to analyse financial data and support pricing strategies.

Required skills

• Experience with a Quality Management System (QMS).
• Proficiency in using an online catering management system.
