Junior Transport Coordinator

About the role

Our client, a leading supplier of premium baking equipment, is looking for a detail‑oriented Junior Transport Coordinator in Cape Town. You will manage the planning and execution of inbound and outbound logistics, ensuring efficient, cost‑effective deliveries while complying with regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate local and international transport across road, sea and air freight.
• Obtain and compare transport quotes to secure cost‑effective solutions.
• Plan and schedule deliveries, aligning with warehouse and sales operations.
• Maintain accurate records of product weights, dimensions and logistics data.
• Liaise with branches, suppliers and transport providers to ensure smooth operations.
• Manage inter‑branch transfers and complete required documentation.
• Monitor delivery schedules and communicate changes to stakeholders.
• Handle transport‑related insurance claims and resolve logistics issues.
• Support export processes, including shipping quotes and container logistics.
• Identify opportunities to improve transport efficiency and processes.

Required profile

• Matric qualification (Mathematics advantageous).
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in logistics or transport coordination.
• Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and ERP systems such as SYSPRO.
• Excellent organisational and time‑management abilities.
• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong communication skills for internal and external stakeholder liaison.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
