Junior Transport Coordinator – Cape Town

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Junior Transport Coordinator to support the planning and execution of inbound and outbound logistics for a leading supplier of premium baking equipment. The role is based in Cape Town and involves close collaboration with warehouse, sales, and external transport partners.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate local and international transport modes, including road, sea, and air freight.
• Obtain, compare and negotiate transport quotes to ensure cost‑effective solutions.
• Plan and schedule deliveries, aligning with warehouse and sales operations.
• Maintain accurate records of product weights, dimensions and logistics data.
• Liaise with branches, suppliers and transport providers to ensure smooth operations.
• Manage inter‑branch transfers and complete required documentation.
• Monitor delivery schedules and communicate changes to stakeholders.
• Handle transport‑related insurance claims and resolve logistics issues.
• Support export processes, including shipping quotes and container logistics.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve transport efficiency.

Required profile

• Matric qualification (Mathematics advantageous).
• Minimum 2 years of experience in logistics or transport coordination.
• Strong computer literacy, especially Microsoft Office and ERP systems such as SYSPRO.
• Excellent organisational and time‑management abilities.
• High attention to detail and capacity to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
