Junior Software Developer

About the role

We are looking for a Junior Software Developer to join our development team. You will be involved in the full software development lifecycle, from gathering high‑level business requirements to designing, coding, testing, and deploying applications.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Scrum Masters, Project Managers and stakeholders to deliver high‑quality software.
• Gather and analyse business requirements, translate them into technical specifications.
• Design, code, and maintain readable, maintainable, and reusable software components.
• Perform unit testing on your code and support system integration testing.
• Work with testing teams to create test cases and support user acceptance testing.
• Deploy code to production environments after successful testing.
• Maintain existing applications, handle change requests, and troubleshoot issues.
• Monitor performance of solutions and recommend improvements.

Required profile

• Matric / Grade 12 qualification.
• Relevant IT qualification.
• 3‑5 years of experience in software development.
• Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Required skills

• Knowledge of relevant programming languages.
• Experience with software testing and writing test cases.
