Junior Sales Representative - FMCG / Food Sector

About the role

We are urgently recruiting a Junior Sales Representative for our client in the Maitland area of Cape Town. This role is ideal for a recent BSc graduate or a candidate with 1‑3 years of proven sales experience in the FMCG sector, looking to launch a career in sales.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage fortnightly call schedules and client visits.
• Classify, segment, and prioritize clients to maximise growth opportunities.
• Conduct market research and keep product and industry knowledge up‑to‑date.
• Implement and support promotional activities in line with company guidelines.
• Build and grow market share across all product categories.
• Maintain strong client relationships and ensure service effectiveness.
• Compile and submit accurate weekly sales and ADAPT reports within deadlines.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities and emerging markets.

Required profile

• Matric (Grade 12) – essential.
• 1‑3 years of sales experience in FMCG or a recent BSc graduate in a related science field.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel extensively.
• Strong planning, organisational and time‑management skills with high drive and results orientation.
• Ability to work independently under pressure with excellent communication and presentation skills.
