Junior Sales Merchandiser

About the role

Our client is seeking a Junior Sales Merchandiser to join their team in Durban. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded and organised individual who wants to develop a career in sales, merchandising, product sourcing and order management.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate with customers, follow up on requirements and orders.
• Prepare and coordinate quotations, product information and order documentation.
• Track orders from placement through sourcing/production to delivery.
• Liaise with suppliers, service providers and internal teams regarding timelines and actions.
• Monitor order progress and escalate potential delays or risks.
• Support product sourcing and identify new product opportunities.
• Maintain accurate sales and order information and prepare basic reports.
• Assist with pricing, costing and other commercial administration tasks.

Required profile

• Matriculation (required).
• 2–3 years experience in sales support, merchandising, order processing, customer service or a similar commercial environment.
• Experience in textiles, clothing, manufacturing, retail, FMCG or other product‑based sectors is advantageous.
• Diploma or degree in Sales, Marketing, Business or a related field is advantageous.
