Category Management Space Planner

About the role

The Category Management team at Boxer Superstores is seeking a detail‑oriented Space Planner to develop and manage store planograms across new, existing and revamp stores at the head office in Westville, Durban. You will work closely with buyers and category managers to translate range decisions into effective shelf layouts that support the category strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Create generic planograms from the buyer‑approved range for new stores and post‑review updates.
• Check all SKUs included in the planogram and flush out old data while importing the latest six‑month data.
• Adjust space allocation according to days of supply and review planograms for alignment with category strategy and merchandising rules.
• Print, circulate and obtain approvals for planograms from managers and heads of department.
• Modify planograms based on HOD feedback and produce store‑specific versions for distribution.
• Publish final signed‑off planograms on CatmanDW for supplier access.
• Develop planograms at SKU level based on target assortment, format and cluster.
• Upload, maintain and update planograms, including images and dimensions, on the system.

Required profile

• Matric qualification.
• Minimum of 1 year’s experience in retail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience engaging internal stakeholders, especially buyers.
• Knowledge of BoMM is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail, numerical and analytical ability.
• Good communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Organised, reliable team player with high integrity and quality focus.
