Junior Quantitative Analyst

About the role

Old Mutual Limited is seeking a Junior Quantitative Analyst to join the Group Risk Quant Team. The role focuses on data engineering, analytics and quantitative support for model development, validation and risk oversight, providing a foundation for growth into a full‑time quant position.

Key responsibilities

• Extract data from internal warehouses, market sources and ad‑hoc files using SQL and extraction tools.
• Design, build and maintain Alteryx workflows for data ingestion, cleansing, transformation and exception handling.
• Develop Python scripts for data manipulation, automation, statistical analysis and reusable analytics components.
• Perform data quality assurance checks, reconciliation and issue remediation.
• Enrich and transform datasets, preparing model‑ready and report‑ready outputs.
• Create and maintain Tableau dashboards and other BI reports, handling data model design, calculations and publishing.
• Document data sources, SQL queries, transformations, scripts and dashboards for audit readiness.
• Support quantitative analysts with data preparation, validation datasets, model output replication and performance testing.
• Build reusable code templates and contribute technical sections to model development and validation deliverables.

Required profile

• Recent graduate or early‑career professional with strong analytical aptitude.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with senior quantitative analysts.
• Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and documentation.
